# Follow up leads instantly

> Someone asked about you. Reply while they still care — automatically, whatever they asked through.

Someone filled in your form, commented on a post, or asked what something costs. Right now they are interested. In four hours they are comparing you to someone who answered faster.

You cannot sit on every channel all day. This is the campaign that answers for you.

## What counts as a lead

Anything where a person raised their hand and left you a way to reach them:

| Where it came from | What starts the follow-up |
| ------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| **A form on your site** | The submission |
| **Instagram or Facebook** | A comment or DM containing a keyword you pick |
| **A Meta lead ad** | The lead form |
| **Google Forms** | The response |
| **Your own system** | An [event you send](/how-to/hamla-events) |

<Note>
**WhatsApp is a delivery channel, not a starting point.** Hamla can message people on WhatsApp, but an inbound WhatsApp message cannot start a campaign today. If WhatsApp is where your customers reach you, capture them with a form or an Instagram auto-reply and follow up *on* WhatsApp.
</Note>

## What you need

* **One way in** from the table above
* **Email or push**, both Free. **WhatsApp** needs the Starter plan
* Nothing else. A form takes a minute to make and needs no connection at all

## Set it up

> Whenever someone submits my form, email them straight away and send a push reminder the next day

Two steps is usually right. The first says *we got it, here is what happens next*. The second catches everyone who did not open the first.

If your leads come from social instead:

> When someone comments "price" on my Instagram posts, DM them the price and ask if they want updates

## What to actually say

The instant reply is not a sales pitch. It has one job: prove a human will follow, and set the wait.

Good:

> Got it — thanks for asking about the Ramadan package. Sara will call you within the day. Here's the menu meanwhile.

Bad:

> Thank you for your interest in our services. A representative will contact you shortly.

The first names the thing they asked about and puts a person and a deadline on it. The second could have come from anyone.

## What actually happens

1. The lead arrives, however it arrived
2. Hamla creates or matches the contact — same person, same record, whether they came from a form last week and Instagram today
3. Your first message goes immediately
4. The follow-ups go on your schedule, and stop for anyone who replies or converts

## Launch it

> Launch the lead follow-up

It stays armed. Every new lead from now on goes through it; nobody already in your list gets pulled in.

## Check on it

> How many leads replied after the first message?

Watch **replies**, not opens. A follow-up that gets opened and ignored is asking for nothing, or asking too much too early.
