# What to ask Hamla

> A library of things you can ask for, in plain words — campaigns, audiences, reports, content and brand. Copy a line, change the details, send it.

Hamla is used by talking to it, so the fastest way to get something done is to know what to ask for.

This page is a library of asks. Every one is a sentence you can copy, change to fit your business, and send. None of them require you to know a menu, a field, or a setting.

<Note>
  **Nothing on this page can send a message on its own.** Everything Hamla builds starts as a draft, and going live always takes a click from you. That is true even when you ask it to "launch" something — you get a confirmation card, and clicking it is what makes it live.
</Note>

<Note>
  **A few of these are a click, not an ask.** Almost everything Hamla does you get by asking for it. Three things live in the dashboard instead, because there is no way to ask for them: building a form, creating a new customer field, and pausing a campaign. Where that is true, the entry below says so and tells you where to go.
</Note>

If you would rather understand *how* to phrase things than pick from a list, read [Talking to Hamla](/guides/talking-to-hamla) first. If you are not sure which of these your business needs, [Set Hamla up for your business](/start/your-business) gets you to a shortlist in fifteen minutes.

## Bring people in

### Capture visitors who are not ready to buy

```text theme={null}
Show a popup to visitors who scroll halfway down the page, offering 10% off for their email
```

### Welcome everyone new

```text theme={null}
Set up a welcome series: capture the email on site, welcome them by email an hour later, then a push a few days after
```

### Turn Instagram comments into contacts

```text theme={null}
When someone comments WANT on my posts, DM them the discount code and ask for their email first
```

<Note>Instagram and Facebook auto-replies need a connected account and the Starter plan.</Note>

### Answer price questions on Facebook automatically

```text theme={null}
When someone comments asking about price on my Facebook page, DM them the price and a link to buy
```

### Build a waitlist from a sold-out post

```text theme={null}
When someone comments NOTIFY on the sold-out post, collect their WhatsApp number for a restock waitlist
```

### Make a form to collect leads

The form itself is the one thing on this page you build yourself. Go to **Contacts → Forms**, start a new one, pick the goal it serves, and add the fields you want — name, phone, which treatment, a consent checkbox. Publishing gives you a link to share and a QR code you can print for each of your locations.

<Note>There is no way to ask Hamla to build a form for you. Everything *after* the form is an ask: once it is live, **Follow up leads the moment they arrive** below runs on its submissions.</Note>

### Greet visitors coming from one place

```text theme={null}
Show a special welcome offer only to visitors arriving from TikTok
```

## Turn interest into sales

### Recover people who left something behind

```text theme={null}
Set up cart recovery: popup when they try to leave, email two hours later, push the next day
```

### Catch someone about to leave

```text theme={null}
Show a last-chance popup when a visitor moves to close the tab
```

### Follow up leads the moment they arrive

```text theme={null}
Whenever someone submits my form, send them a welcome email straight away and a push reminder the next day
```

### Chase people who browsed and did not buy

```text theme={null}
Re-engage visitors who looked around and left — notification first, popup, then an email two hours later
```

### Confirm a booking the moment it is made

```text theme={null}
When someone books an appointment, send them a confirmation straight away
```

### Remind people before their appointment

```text theme={null}
Every morning, message everyone whose appointment is within the next day
```

<Note>
  A reminder needs Hamla to know **when** the appointment is. A booking connection tells it *who* booked — name and email — but not the date. Send the date along with the booking as a trait and it becomes a field you can filter on. [Booking reminders](/how-to/booking-reminders) walks through both halves.
</Note>

### Recommend something related

```text theme={null}
When someone views a product, show them a popup with related items and follow up by email
```

### Tell people something is back

```text theme={null}
Email everyone on the waitlist the moment that product is back in stock
```

### Tell people the price dropped

```text theme={null}
When a product's price drops, notify everyone who viewed it
```

## Keep customers coming back

### Thank people after they buy

```text theme={null}
Send a thank-you email when an order ships, and suggest something that goes with it
```

### Ask for a review at the right moment

```text theme={null}
Ask for a review five days after delivery, with a push reminder if they don't respond
```

### Win back people who went quiet

```text theme={null}
Every morning, email anyone who hasn't ordered in 60 days with a comeback offer
```

Change the number to fit your business — 30 days for a cafe, six months for a dentist.

### Celebrate a birthday

```text theme={null}
Send a birthday email with a gift, and a push on the day
```

### Look after your best customers

```text theme={null}
Give my VIP customers early access to the new collection before anyone else
```

### Stop chasing people who already bought

```text theme={null}
Make sure anyone who buys stops receiving the rest of the sequence
```

## Turn customers into fans

### Ask for referrals

```text theme={null}
Email customers who have ordered three or more times and ask them to refer a friend
```

### Put your referral code in front of happy customers

```text theme={null}
Show a thank-you message on my order confirmation page with my referral code and a copy button
```

<Note>Hamla does not issue or track referral links. You bring your own code — from your store, your booking system, your loyalty program — and Hamla puts it in front of people at the moment they are happiest.</Note>

### Celebrate your customers publicly

```text theme={null}
Draft a Facebook post around this review: "I've come back three times, nothing else compares." — Sara
```

<Note>Hamla does not collect or store your reviews. Paste the one you want to use and it writes the post around it, art direction for the image included.</Note>

## Seasons and moments

Hamla knows the calendar that matters in your market — Ramadan, both Eids, White Friday, National Day, Mother's Day, back to school.

### Plan a whole season

```text theme={null}
Plan my Ramadan campaigns — what to send, when, and on which channels
```

### Run a launch across channels

```text theme={null}
I'm launching a new collection on the 12th. Announce it by email, popup and Instagram, and build a plan for the week around it
```

### Run a flash sale

```text theme={null}
Run a 48-hour flash sale: popup on site, urgency banner after five minutes, email blast to my list
```

### Ask what is coming up

```text theme={null}
What's coming up in the next month that I should be planning for?
```

## Build audiences

Audiences in Hamla are live. People join and leave on their own as their behaviour changes, so you build one once.

### Find people who have gone quiet

```text theme={null}
Make me a segment of customers who bought before but nothing in the last 60 days
```

### Find your best customers

```text theme={null}
Segment: three or more orders, spent over 1000, ordered in the last 90 days
```

### Find people about to leave

```text theme={null}
Who's at risk of churning?
```

### Use something your own system knows

```text theme={null}
Make a segment of contacts whose plan is pro and who haven't logged in for two weeks
```

### Find people from one source

```text theme={null}
Segment everyone who came in through my Instagram auto-reply
```

### Start a campaign when someone joins a segment

```text theme={null}
When someone enters the VIP segment, send them a welcome-to-VIP email
```

### Just ask a question about your customers

```text theme={null}
How many customers haven't ordered since Ramadan?
```

## Your contacts

### Bring in a list you already have

```text theme={null}
Import this list of customers — here's the file
```

<Note>Imports are shown to you as a preview before anything is written, and imported history never triggers campaigns. A year of old orders will not send a year of messages.</Note>

### Bring in past orders too

```text theme={null}
Import their order history as well, so my win-back segments work from day one
```

### Record that you have permission to message people

For a whole list, consent is recorded where the list is: **Contacts → Contacts Management → Consent**. It is also part of importing — Hamla asks how these people opted in before it writes anything. For one person, it is an ask:

```text theme={null}
This customer opted in at the counter — mark them as consented to marketing
```

<Note>Without consent, contacts sit in Hamla and campaigns reach none of them. Hamla will never grant it on a guess: you have to say that the people opted in, and how.</Note>

### Track something specific about a customer

A new field is created once, in **Contacts → Contacts Management → Custom Fields → Create Field** — or on its own, the first time your system sends the value as a trait through [Hamla Events](/how-to/hamla-events). Filling it in afterwards is an ask:

```text theme={null}
Set this customer's branch to the Jeddah one
```

<Note>Hamla cannot invent a field for you mid-conversation. A value sent for a field that does not exist yet is dropped, which is why the field comes first.</Note>

### Look someone up

```text theme={null}
Tell me everything about the customer with this phone number
```

### Fix a contact

```text theme={null}
Update this contact's language to Arabic and add the VIP tag
```

## Understand what is working

### The plain question

```text theme={null}
How did last week go?
```

### Compare periods

```text theme={null}
Compare this month to last month — revenue, conversions and where people came from
```

### Find out where customers come from

```text theme={null}
Which channel brings customers who actually spend, not just visit?
```

### Check one campaign

```text theme={null}
How is the cart recovery doing? Is it worth keeping?
```

### Get a report you can send someone

```text theme={null}
Make me a monthly performance report I can send to my partner
```

### Get slides

```text theme={null}
Turn that into a short deck and export it as a PDF
```

### Find out if anything is broken

```text theme={null}
Is anything broken or underperforming right now?
```

## Your brand and content

### Teach Hamla how you sound

```text theme={null}
We never say "cheap", we say "good value". Keep Arabic colloquial, not formal.
```

<Note>Voice is saved to your Business Brief — the short profile Hamla keeps of your business — so it applies to every draft from then on, not just the next one.</Note>

### Set your brand look

```text theme={null}
Use these colours and this font in every popup and email from now on
```

### Draft a social post

```text theme={null}
Draft an Instagram post announcing the new arrivals, with art direction for the photo
```

<Note>Publishing to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or LinkedIn needs a connected account and the Starter plan.</Note>

### Rewrite something

```text theme={null}
Too long. Cut it to two sentences and drop the exclamation marks.
```

### Save a design you like

```text theme={null}
Save this popup design to my library so I can reuse it
```

## Running campaigns

### Put something live

```text theme={null}
Launch the cart recovery campaign
```

### Schedule instead

```text theme={null}
Schedule this for Sunday at 9am
```

### Pause things

Stopping a campaign is a click, on the campaign itself. Hamla will tell you what is running and what it would stop, but the stop is yours:

```text theme={null}
What's running right now, and what should I pause over the holiday?
```

### See what is scheduled

```text theme={null}
What's scheduled for next week?
```

### Find a good time to send

```text theme={null}
What day and time should I send this to my audience?
```

<Note>Hamla answers from what it knows about your market and your audience. There is no automatic send-time optimisation, and no per-hour breakdown of your own results — if you want it to go out at a set time, say the time and schedule it.</Note>

## Write your own

None of these are magic words. Hamla reads plain language in Arabic or English, including transliterated Arabic — "3amel campaign lel customers illi ma tholoush" works.

Three things make any ask work better:

| Add                        | Example                                        |
| -------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| **Who it is for** | "…to customers who haven't ordered in 60 days" |
| **What counts as success** | "…and stop it for anyone who books" |
| **What you do not want** | "…no discount, lead with the new arrivals" |

Put all three in the first message and Hamla builds it without asking. Leave them out and it will ask you — once, with a few focused questions, not a wizard.
