What an AI credit is

One credit is one tenth of a US cent of AI cost. Hamla charges you what the underlying AI models cost it, converted at $0.001 per credit and rounded up, with a minimum of one credit per request. That’s the whole formula. There’s no markup buried in the exchange rate and no separate per-campaign fee. So the monthly allowance is really a budget in disguise:

What that buys

Cost tracks the size of the job, not the number of clicks:
  • A short question — “how did last week go?” — is at the floor, a credit or two
  • Building a campaign costs more: Hamla is reading your products, writing several messages, and checking its own work
  • Generating images is the expensive one
  • The automatic work — the analysis when you first connect, health checks, weekly reports — draws from the same pot
Repeated questions in one conversation are cheaper than the first, because Hamla reuses the context it already loaded rather than re-reading everything.
Credits measure AI thinking, not sending. Delivering an email is counted under your email allowance, not here.

What the other limits count

Contacts — people Hamla can reach. Someone who filled a form, bought something, or accepted notifications. Anonymous visitors don’t count until they give you a way to contact them, which is why popups matter on a new store. Campaigns per month — campaigns created in a billing month, not campaigns running. A cart recovery campaign you set up in January and leave running all year counts once, in January. Growth and Business have no cap. Emails and push per month — messages actually delivered. A three-step campaign that reaches 100 people can send up to 300 emails. Active popups — popups live on your site at once. Drafts don’t count. Media library items — images and videos you’ve uploaded or generated. Team members — people with access to the workspace.

What happens when you hit a limit

Nothing that’s already live stops. A campaign mid-flight keeps sending. What stops is new work of that kind — you can’t create the sixteenth campaign of the month on Starter until the month rolls over, or upgrade. Ask if you’re not sure where you stand:
How many credits have I used this month?

Which plan

Ignore the feature list and count contacts first — it’s the limit most businesses hit before any other. Plans are cumulative — everything in a lower plan is in the higher ones. Yearly billing is about 20% cheaper per month. Exact prices and every limit are on Plans and limits, generated from the same configuration that bills you.
